Giving Blood

I gave blood this afternoon. Did the double red cell thing.

If you're able to give blood, you should do it, too.

Cushy chairs, baby! And a TV that's always on some crappy show. I take a book, lay back, and relax.

You shouldn't have told me that. Now I'll try to do that, probably, when my time is better spent reading! Curses!!!

Especially since there always seems to be a shortage of blood and blood products, it's a shame that they make blanket ineligibility decisions like that.

Also I didn't realize that I'm 10 years older than you.

Especially since there always seems to be a shortage of blood and blood products, it's a shame that they make blanket ineligibility decisions like that. They should change that rule.

needles don't bother me at all, so I gave regularly until, umm, I became ineligible. which was a good long time, luckily/sadly. :-)

Heh. Well, thanks for giving until they made you quit. And I'm glad/sorry ? that it was a good long time 'till you were ineligible.

I don't mind the needles at all, either, so it doesn't seem like too big a deal for me to give. I'm always impressed when I see someone, like I did today, who is obviously having a hard time with the needle or whatever, but sticks it through to give the whole donation. There was a girl on the other side of the room who was obviously a repeat customer since so many people knew her. And she was practically crying by the time they had the needle in her arm. Quite a trooper, though.
