Catching up, work, and theology

I have got some catching up to do in my journal. I'll summarize here and perhaps catch up with more details in subsequent entries.

The weekend was great. I visited my parents, brother, and some buddies in the DC area. It's been a while since I've been up there and I had a great time. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Work is busy. I've done a couple of 12-hour days in a row now. At least we're making some real good progress on the project. I fear that it might be too late for where we are in the grand scheme of things, but it also might be just enough at just under the wire. The next several days will be telling.

Theology. I had a couple of really interesting theological discussions with a couple of my buddies (separate conversations, same subject) this evening. It's been a really long time since I've seriously wrestled with some theological issues that I couldn't simply and confidently toss off an answer for. It was very liberating to consider and discuss these issues seriously. I think that we need to challenge ourselves on a spiritual level from time to time. Based on the discussions I had today, I've got some introspection to engage in that will last me into the foreseeable future. These discussions have reminded me of how much I enjoy discussing and thinking about theology. And it has renewed my desire to pursue more advanced theological education, perhaps leading to a theological profession.

I've got some preparation for Sunday School this week. We're starting Job. I'm looking forward to it.

"Life Or Something Like It" has turned out to be a much more interesting movie than I expected. I originally turned it on to have something on in the background as I poked around on the computer. Now, I'm all wrapped up in the story and am anxious to see how it all turns out. Am I a sap, or what?
