Sporting Clays at Deep River (22%)

Yesterday, I went to Deep River Sporting Clays with Mrs. Mellow, her father, and her brother for an afternoon of sporting clays goodness. We all had a great time. The course was larger than Shane's (the only other clays course I've been to) and was fun. The traps were automatic traps, but since it was our first time on the course, they sent a trapper with us. That was great, since he knew the course and was able to get us from station to station and pull the clays for us.

Out of the fifty clays, I broke eleven. Not so great, but I'm not disappointed with it. Twenty-two percent is better than the twenty percent I got last time I was shooting. I want to be consistently shooting better than thirty percent. That's my near-term goal.

It'll probably be a few weeks before I go shooting again -- I already have plans for my next several weekends, not to mention that my shoulder is pretty sore. I took a couple of poor mounts yesterday, which irritated my already sore shoulder. I'm currently sporting quite the bruise. I might be going out sooner, though -- I suspect that drjekyll might be itching to head out and try his newly borrowed shotgun soon, and I'd love to see it in action.
