Cash released from hospital, continues work on new album.

I never would have believed that I'd be linking to a story on for a story about Johnny Cash, but they have the best article about his recent release from the hospital. He had an inflamed pancreas. They say he's all better now and that he's gone home to work on his new album some more, which "would likely be a mix of covers and originals picked from the nearly 50 songs Cash has recorded at his home studio for the effort." And the said some more stuff about the upcoming release of Unearthed, his box set. This is the first time I've seen confirmation of what I've been hoping for since his first album with Rubin came out -- "he fourth disc to be an album of acoustic gospel songs Cash completed several years ago, titled My Mother's Hymn Book." I'm so much looking forward to this and have been hoping for years and years that those tracks would be produced and released.

Funniest part of the story? The link to Kurt Loder's Johnny Cash: Original Gangsta."

As always, thanks to Google NewsAlerts for providing me with my daily dose of Johnny Cash news.
