Monday: One of my coworkers asked if I was wearing a tie just to mess with everyone's mind. Another of my coworkers pointed at me and said "Interview! Interview!"
Tuesday: No comments.
Wednesday: One of my managers made a big deal about my tie -- on a phone conference, he made sure to let everyone on the phone know that I was wearing a neat tie with cartoon dogs on it.
Thursday (so far): One of my coworkers (the "Interview! Interview!" one from Monday) asked me why I'm always wearing a tie now. Another person in the office said that lots of people are whispering "Why is Greg so dressed up?" now.
You know, I'm not really trying to play mind games with my coworkers. Every now and then, I just get into a mindset where I really enjoy wearing ties. I think men look good in ties and it's a shame that they're not as common as they used to be. It's really a shame that people think it's exceptional when I'm wearing a tie. Don't get me wrong -- I'm happy that ties are not required dress now -- but I think we've swung too far the other way.
