I had a great time at the David Allan Coe show last night, but I also learned something. The idea of David Allan Coe is much better than the reality of David Allan Coe. The man's years of hard living have obviously caught up with him. He couldn't even stand to perform -- he did most of the performance kind of leaning/sitting on a bar stool. He started the show pretty energetic, but drank whiskey throughtout the whole show and by the time the show was over, he was very noticably drunk. He needed his girlfriend to help him walk off the stage without falling. That's probably the last time I go to see DAC in concert (unless I can go with my brother sometime). I'll just stick with the CDs I have.
