PoetryGSO - Rita Dove

It's late notice, I know, but if any of my local readers want go to PoetryGSO - Rita Dove tonight at the Carolina Theatre in Greensboro, I'd love you to join yarbiedoll and me.
Pulitzer-prize winning poet Rita Dove has been featured on NBC's Today Show, CNN and A Prairie Home Companion. In 1993 Rita Dove was appointed Poet Laureate of the United States and she has read her poetry at the White House. Appearances in magazines and anthologies won national acclaim for Rita Dove when she published her first poetry collection, The Yellow House on the Corner.
Mostly, I'm going to refresh my memory of the layout of the Carolina Theatre's interior in preparation to hopefully creating a banner to hang from the balcony at Saturday night's Derek Trucks Band show. But live jazz and listening to a former US Poet Laureate should be a great deal of fun, too. Especially since it's free.

The live jazz starts at 6pm, the poetry at 7pm.
