ACM adds Safari Bookshelf

In addition to the many other benefits the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) provides, I just noticed that they have added the O'Reilly Safari Bookshelf for their professional members. This, in itself, is more than worth the price of ACM membership. At one point, my company did a trial of the Safari Bookshelf that I participated in. I was really sad when they decided not to go past the trial. Now that I can get it with my ACM membership, I'm thrilled.

So, anyway, if you're in the IT field, it's even more advantageous to be a part of the ACM than ever before.

Daily Snapshot

I'm stealing an idea from sidelobe and am going to start posting a daily snapshot. These are going to be snapshots taken with my camera phone, so don't expect any award-winning photography to come out of this experiment. The photos themselves will be housed on my flickr account, but I'll be mirroring them here in my LJ blog, too.

Let's see how interesting this turns out to be.

Edit: All of the daily snapshot pictures will eventually end up being friends-only. They'll probably originally show up as public, but I'll lock them down sometime after posting.
