The McPassion

Hat tip to fettman for giving me a link to The McPassion, a 4-minute short comedy. I don't know that a short comedy like this is an appropriate way to depict Christ. I wouldn't be comfortable putting together something like this, anyway. It is pretty funny, and it does a pretty good job of showing where we could end up with the increasing commercialization of faith.

What do you guys think? Did you think the short was funny? Is the just completely offensive and should never have been made? Should Christians rise up worldwide and riot? If so, should the other faiths that are briefly mocked at the end also rise up? If so, since their mockery was brief, should they contain their indignation to bar fights instead of full-scale riots? What about the underlying message of comercialization of faith? Have we already gone too far? Is some commercialization acceptable? Necessary? How much? Am I asking too many questions?

Feeling Ill

I wonder if I ate something at Applebee's this afternoon that wasn't quite good. Starting about 2 hours after I ate, I started feeling bad. I came home from work just a little early and settled in on the couch for a little West Wing catching up. yarbiedoll came home a little later and we looked at movie listings, but she wanted to see movies that either involved reading (French audio, with English subtitles) or thinking (a period piece about a 17th century poet), both of which seem somewhat interesting, but not what I was in the mood for tonight, and I wanted to see something that might look really cool on the big screen as opposed to DVD, which she wasn't interested in. So, we decided to take a raincheck. I think I might have fallen asleep as soon as I got back to the couch. I woke up a few minutes ago to a bit of a stomachache and headache -- I think it's just going to get worse over the next few hours. I hope it passes by tomorrow -- I'm planning on cleaning out the gutters. In the mean time, I think I'll just go to bed early.
