Doc Watson

I got another signature on my guitar last night. Two, actually. We went to see Doc Watson last night. He was playing with David Holt and the show was awesome. Afterwards, they signed autographs. There was barely enough time for me to drive home, get my guitar and a Doc Watson poster, and come back before they were done signing autographs.

The show was absolutely amazing. Doc is incredible.

I thought it was really cool that they stuck around to sign autographs afterwards -- they signed anything anyone brought them. Doc asked me what kind of guitar I had and I told him it was a cheap Yamaha Eterna. Just like when I got Derek Trucks to sign it, Doc said that some of those Yamahas were really nice guitars. Then he tapped on the guitar a bit to see how it resonated.

After helping Doc sign my guitar, David went ahead and signed it, too.

David Alan Coe was playing nearby last night, too. We were hoping to catch the last of his show after the Doc Watson show, but by the time we got to the N Club, Coe had already finished and normal Friday night Night Life in Greensboro was going on. I figured it would be really funny if I could get Coe to sign my guitar, too.

First Praise and Worship Service: Tomorrow

If you're in the Greensboro area tomorrow morning, I recommend you stop by Mount Pisgah UMC at 11:00 for our first Praise and Worship Service. The whole worship team got together for several hours today and practiced, including going through the entire service. We've been having some difficulties thrown at us, but we're weathering the whole thing fine.

I'm really looking forward to the service.
