G String Solution

Thanks to everyone who gave me suggestions on what to do with my G string. As it turns out, I decided to hang it on the wall downstairs with my collection of lapel pins until I decide what to do with it. The G string itself is actually used and broken -- I picked it up off the floor when the previous owner broke it. I wanted a souvineer and he said I could have it, so that's pretty cool. Maybe I'll make something with it sometime, I don't know.

The G string in question? It came from Don Wayne Reno's banjo when he kept breaking strings at the last Hayseed Dixie show I attended.

but I bet I'm not the only one
(in which Jay admits that he was taken down the very wrong road by The Mellow Fellow's choice of wordplay - to the undoubtedly high-larious mirthful enjoyment of said fellow)

So I missed the whole post on suggestions - and I'm reading this (at work mind you) - wondering, in borderline "wha the heck?!?" horror during the first three sentences, thinking G-string was not what it really is - and what my mind first thought it was - I think the combination of "souvenir" + "band" + "off floor" + the common vocabularly of the day had me going - the horror gaining full steam at "broken" and "hang on the wall" - which thankfully triggered my built-in re-evaluation safety check.

But man, did you have me going for a good 30 seconds.

Ha! I was the only one who identified it as a banjo string!
