The Beauty Of Noise Cancelling Headphones

If you want to sneak up and startle me, now is the time to do it.

Sensing that the solution is near, I'm wandering in and out of deep though as I attack the coding problem de jour. I plugged into my CD player and threw in a copy of a Derek Trucks Band show that I downloaded from the Live Music Archive yesterday and hit a groove as the mellow sounds of jazz, funk, rock, and blues surround me. I reached up to the headphone covering my right ear and moved the switch that engages the noise-cancelling feature of these headphones to the "on" position.

For me, the outside world no longer exists. All that matters is the epic battle between the bits and bytes in my code and the sweet, sweet sound of Derek's slide guitar.
