Saved By The Bell

Last week, I asked which episodes of Saved By The Bell were the best and worst. Responses were discouraging and everybody was incorrect. At least bartacus tried.

As promised, here are the correct answers.

Best episode of Saved By The Bell: the one where Jesse has too much to do and not enough time to do it and gets addicted to crack diet pills. It's the best because of the scene at the end when she starts singing: "I'm so excited! I'm so excited! I'm... so... scared..." and breaks down crying in Zach's arms. OK, maybe that's not the best episode, but that is certainly my favorite scene from the series.

Best episode of Saved By The Bell, take two: the one where Zach and Kelly have thier own private prom outside of the real prom 'cause Kelly donated the money she was going to spend on her prom dress to her family's general fund since her father had been laid off. That is just a sweet episode. I still cry when I see it.

Worst episode of Saved By The Bell: the one where the kids have to do a homework assignment where they investigate their ancestors. Lisa found out that her ancestors were slaves. Jesse found out that her ancestors were slave owners and kept trying to make it up to Lisa. It was terrible. To top it off, Zach found out that one of his ancestors was a Native American chief and Zach came to school dressed in silly-looking regalia for his report. This episode was bad, bad, bad on many levels.

A few months ago, I caught the last few minutes of a VH-1 Special about Saved By The Bell. It was kind of like a Behind The Music, but for a TV show. I really wish I had seen the whole show. From time to time, I still look for a repeat on VH-1, but I haven't found it yet. If anyone who reads this blog happens to run across that special (or one like it), please feel free to let me know.
