Tropical Scents

I was napping after a hard day at the office, when I was awakened by a smell which I must admit was not entirely pleasing to me. I couldn't put my finger on the odor, though. I walked upstairs to ask Mrs. Mellow about it. The following is the approximate conversation that followed.

drmellow: Did you spray some air freshener or something around here?
yarbiedoll: Yes. Don't you like it?
drmellow: Well, it's... interesting.
yarbiedoll: I really like it. It's tropical. Coconut Banana.
drmellow: Ah! That's it. No wonder I don't like it! (I really don't like coconut.)
yarbiedoll (connecting the dots): Oohhhh.... It's the coconut, isn't it?
drmellow: Yeah. I'm not a big fan.
yarbiedoll: It smells so nice -- not really like coconut, but tropical. Like monkeys!
drmellow: Monkeys?
yarbiedoll: I was just trying to relate it to something you could identify with.

I'm sure I'll get used to the smell. Mrs. Mellow really seems to like it and it does have a tropical feel to it. Maybe I can train my nose to focus on the banana scent and ignore the coconut.
