Blood Donation

I just got back from my blood donation. Today marked a total of two gallons since I started giving blood. I celebrated by picking up a big cheeseburger from the Cook-Out on the way back to the office.

Today, my blood flowed freely. Once they found a vein, that is.

If you're eligible to give blood, I highly recommend you do so now. It saves lives.

There's nothing like digging around for a vein. :)
That should leave you with a nice bruise, and as I recall, you seem to like that!

I don't really like the bruise, but bruises are kinda cool. They didn't have to dig too much today, just an extra poke or two. The technician was extremely apologetic. I shrugged it off.

And, as you point out, you can guiltlessly eat anything for a good day or so after donating. "Oh, my, I think I feel faint... yes, that will be an extra-large chocolate shake, please..."

I'm self-conscious about my veins (the size of garden hoses), but it is nice for donating. I could be the Trainee Donor - nobody has ever missed mine.
