Lynyrd Skynard vs. The Allman Brothers Band

I'm still looking for suggestions for my upcoming Drinking Song Poll, but on my way in to work this morning, I had another idea for a poll. This poll pits two great bands of the Southern Rock tradition againt each other. They're competing on the merits of different songs, but it's essentially the same song.

Poll #315590 Lynyrd Skynard vs. The Allman Brothers

Whis is a better song?

Gimmie Three Steps by Lynyrd Skynard
13(76.5%)
One Way Out by The Allman Brothers Band
4(23.5%)

As always, use the comments to justify your answer.

[Update: In case you might not be familiar with these songs, I hunted down the lyrics: Gimmie Three Steps and One Way Out. I also reproduced them under the following cut tags.]

Gimmie Three Steps
I was cutting the rug
Down at a place called The Jug
With a girl named Linda Lu
When in walked a man
With a gun in his hand
And he was looking for you know who.
He said, 'Hey there fellow,
With the hair colored yellow,
Watcha tryin' to prove
'Cause that's my woman there
And I'm a man who cares
And this might be all for you.'
I was scared and fearing for my life.
I was shakin' like a leaf on a tree.
'Cause he was lean, mean,
Big and bad, Lord,
Pointin' that gun at me.
I said, 'Wait a minute, mister,
I didn't even kiss her.
Don't want no trouble with you.
And I know you don't owe me
But I wish you'd let me
Ask one favor from you.'
[Chorus]
'Won't you give me three steps,
Gimme three steps mister,
Gimme three steps towards the door
Gimme three steps
Gimme three steps mister,
And you'll never see me no more.'
Well the crowd cleared away
And I began to pray
As the water fell on the floor.
And I'm telling you son,
Well, it ain't no fun
Staring straight down a forty-four.
Well he turned and screamed at Linda Lu
And that's the break I was looking for.
And you could hear me screaming a mile away
As I was headed out towards the door.
[Chorus]

One Way Out
Written by Elmore James, Marshall E. Sehorn, Sonny Boy Williamson

Ain't but one way out baby, Lord I just can't go out the door.
Ain't but one way out baby, and Lord I just can't go out the door.
Cause there's a man down there, might be your man I don't know.

Lord you got me trapped woman, up on the second floor;
If I get by this time I won't be trapped no more.
So raise our window baby, I can ease out soft and slow.
And lord, your neighbors, no they won't be
Talking that stuff that they don't know.

Lord, I'm foolish to be here in the first place,
I know some man gonna walk in and take my place.
Ain't no way in the world, I'm going out that front door
Cause there's a man down there, might be your man I don't know.
Cause there's a man down there, might be your man I don't know.
Cause there's a man down there,

Freely
Lord, it just might happen to be your man...
Lord, it just a might be your man,
Oh baby, I just don't know...
