Drinking Songs Poll

As promised, here's the Drinking Songs poll. I reached the poll limit before I ran out of suggestions, so it kinda worked out first-come, first-served.

Write-in candidates are welcome and you can feel free to justify your answer in the comments.

One of the current pop-country songs out now, "You Got the Wrong Girl" contains as a criticism of the eponimous girl, and by it's placement, one may infer that the criticism is intended as the final, clinching proof of the girl's defects, the line, "And I bet she never listens to Merle.".

Although I will dutifully choose I Think I'll Just Sit Here and Drink", I personally believe that 99 bottles of beer on the wall is the greatest drinking song. ;)

Why Don't We Get Drunk and Screw by Jimmy Buffett

Yes, I know, that seems scandalous coming from a Christian but the song is so absurd that it crosses from being offensive into being hilarious...

Wow, you don't have a single Irish song on the list. I guess their invention got away from them. (Not to mention the ownership of Harp and Guinness.)

The last time I checked, "Elton John" and "drinking song" do not belong in the same sentence. More like "Elton John" and "depressing song."

c'mom now.
With these lyrics, how it could it not be:

Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug
Make you want to holler hi-de-ho
Burns your tummy, don'tcha know
Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug

Grape wine in a Mason jar
Homemade and brought to school
By a friend of mine 'n' after class
Me and him and this other fool decide that we'll drink up what's left
Chug-a-lug, so we helped ourself
First time for everything
Mm, my ears still ring

Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug
Make you want to holler hi-de-ho
Burns your tummy, don'tcha know
Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug

4-H and FFA on a field trip to the farm
Me 'n' a friend sneak off behind
This big old barn where we uncovered a covered-up moonshine still
And we thought we'd drink our fill
And I swallered it with a smile
*Bllll-bbbb*, I run ten mile

Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug
Make you want to holler hi-de-ho
Burns your tummy, don'tcha know
Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug

Jukebox 'n' sawdust floor
Sumpin' like I ain't never seen
And I'm just going on fifteen
But with the help of my finaglin' uncle I get snuck in
For my first taste of sin.
I said "Lemme have a big old sip"
*Bllll-bbbb*, I done a double back flip

Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug
Make you want to holler hi-de-ho
Burns your tummy, don'tcha know
Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug

I vote for "Kiss Me I'm Shitfaced" by the Dropkick Murphys. Gotta go with the Irish! :)
