2 Year Anniversary

I forgot to mention that yesterday was my Two Year Anniversary with my current company. The same date next year will mark my Six Year Anniversary.

Clearly, I am missing something. But congrats in any case.

I'm a rehire at my current company. I worked here for three years right out of college, took another job for three years, then came back two years ago. The company policy is that you get immediate credit for your prior service if you are rehired within a year of leaving. Otherwise, you get credit for your prior service three years after being rehired. Thus, on my Three Year Anniversary next year, I'll get credit for my previous three years. So I'll have six years of service. (Technically, I'll have six years and a few weeks -- they'll move my "effective hire date" to June 1999.)

All of this assumes that Cingular respects the AT&T Wireless rehire/service bridging policy. And that I'm still employed here next July.
