Teaching Bible Studies

Yesterday, the associate pastor called me to see if I would teach Disciple Bible Study again this year. I told him that I couldn't, as I don't really have the time to take on new activities and going through Disciple again would be a huge time commitment. In fact, I'm working to reduce the number of activites I'm involved in so I'll have more time and energy for things around the home.

Disciple is a great study. I went through the study about five years ago, and taught it the next year. There are actually four courses in the program -- I've only done the first course. Some day, I hope to be able to go through the other three courses, and teach it again.

No, I don't think it's available online. And, based on the type of study it is, I don't think it lends itself to being available online. It's very much relational, and trys to encourage things like having the class get together to do service projects and the like. Much of the class time is spent in small group discussion that I don't think would carry over to an online version very well. Class sizes try to be limited to twelve or less in order to encourage small group discussion, etc.
