Tonight I am going to eat supper with my wonderful wife and a dear friend. We are going to a local Mexican dive. I am very much looking forward to it.
Listening to live recordings of The Derek Trucks Band is a really great way to spend the afternoon, especially when I am plugging away at technical issues that plague my work from time to time. The music -- especially the bluesy numbers -- have a way of putting me a technical groove if I am not in one, or keeping me in the groove if I am. If you have ever worked in IT, you probably know exactly what I am talking about.
If you want to listen to the live show I am listening to, it is available for (free and legal) download. It is excellent.
[ETA: Argh! Just as I am about to reach new heights in ataining that groove, I am reminded that I need to go to a meeting. Further, I am reminded that on the other side of this meeting, I will be carrying the pager. Such are the ups and downs in a typical day of the IT worker, I guess.]
