GREENSBORO -- Mrs. Louise Thompson Almond, 82, of Overton Drive, died Monday Aug. 29, 2005, at her home.
An 11 a.m. funeral service will be held on Wednesday at the Forbis & Dick North Elm Street Chapel, with the Rev. David Howard, officiating. Interment will follow at the Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, on Stokes Ferry Road, in Salisbury.
Mrs. Almond was born on Feb. 27, 1923, in Stanley County, the daughter of the late Charlie Thompson and Ruby Thompson. Before her retirement, Mrs. Almond was employed by the Stanly County Sheriff's Office. Upon moving to Greensboro she worked for 23 years, in the U.S. Marshal's Service. Mrs. Almond was a member of Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church, a devoted member of the Seeker's Bible Class, the United Methodist Women, the XYZ's and the Owners. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Craven P. Almond and a son, Craig Allen Almond.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Ginger Almond, of Summerville, S.C.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today in the parlor of Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church, 2600 Pisgah Church Road.
