As soon as I got up, I threw on some nasty clothes and headed to the shed to get my new ladder and the leaf blower. a few adjustments to the ladder and I had it set up perfectly so I could climb up to my back roof. I cranked up that leaf blower and blew all the debris out of the gutters -- they really needed cleaning and I'm glad that I got it taken care of before we start to have rain of any significance.
For the front and side roof, it was easier to climb out a house window than to use the ladder, so that's what I did. Partway through cleaning the guttters on the front roof, I ran out of fuel for the leaf blower, and I didn't have any more mixed in the shed, so I grabbed the fuel container and headed to the gas station. That's when I noticed that my sideview mirror on the truck was broken. *sigh* The mirror itself was in several pieces in the street in front of the truck. I picked up the broken pieces to throw away and went on to the gas station. I guess I'll take the truck to the dealership on Monday. I hope a replacement doesn't cost too much. It's overdue for its 15,000 mile maintenance anyway. I wonder if the mirror was broken by an accidental drive-by scrape or a purposeful hoodlum's baseball bat. Either way, it was pretty poor for someone to do that to me. As far as I can tell, there was no damage to the rest of the truck -- no scrapes or dents or anything. Oh, well -- it can be fixed.
After returning with more fuel, the rest of the gutter cleaning went pretty well. I had to wash down the ladder when I was done -- it got splattered with wet, dirty leaves.
Anyway, I got the big project that I wanted to accomplish today accomplished. We're going to meet tldz and A for supper tonight and I'll plan on doing some more prep for tomorrow's Sunday School class afterwards. Between now and then, I'll do some more organizing/cleaning up of the basement junk that I brought up the living room to sort through a few weeks ago.
I was going to go walking today, but I think I'll consider my yardwork time as exercise instead.
Now I'm going to see if I can rustle up something for lunch.
