Burger Slayer Update

Thanks to everyone who's voted for me at burgerslayer.hardees.com -- in the day since I began my campaign of self-promotion, all of you people have brought my photo up into the top five -- just a few votes shy of being featured on the main contest page. Some of you are even promoting me in your own journals -- I appreciate that.

More details, including the awesome photo I'm using to try to win free burgers can be seen at the original post I made yesterday. You have the power to help a buddy get free burgers! Someday, I'll post the details of my burger platform and what you, the voters can expect from me when I'm crowned October's Burger Slayer.

Remember, you can vote every day, so vote often!

Have you been tracking how many votes the guy in first place gets each day to see if you can overtake him?

Not really, 'cause I only found out about this contest Thursday and didn't see that my picture made it to the site until yesterday, which is when I started looking at my competition. My gut tells me that I might be able to overtake him -- I think I've gotten about 3x as many votes as he has in the past 24 hours, but I don't have any hard numbers to back it up. Based on his picture being in the gallery since October 2 and mine being in since October 13, he's got a head start on me, but I think I'm making a strong showing right out of the gate. The real challenge will be to keep it up -- his average number of votes is just above 31 per day, while mine is just above 23 per day. I don't think he's received over 30 votes in the past 24 hours, though, so I imagine his support is slowing down -- as I'm sure mine will after the novelty wears off in a few days. It's more about the trends than a straight average.

That's why I need everyone to be sure to vote every day 'till the end of the month if I'm going to have a chance to take first place!

I've been trying to vote for you, but apparently they use the most recent version of Flash, which isn't supported under Firefox-under-Linux. :/

Well, pooh! Thanks for trying.

I'll be sure to vote next time I'm at school on an OSX box!

How come it only lets me vote once from my computer? Can I overcome that somehow?

Wait 'till tomorrow to vote again -- one vote per day.

If you have a laptop, take it to your favorite Internet cafe. Or three. That'll get you a new Internet address, and should let you vote again.

You may have to clear the cookies, too.

I tried just clearing the cookies, but that wasn't enough. The server remembered me.

I voted for you and made Ronette vote for you, and only vote for you since she wanted to vote for someone else's picture too. But I wouldn't let her because she can't assist the competition. Anyway, I think I'll go promote your cause in my journal too.

You look like a caveman,... but I vote for you. :)
Well, I have the same problem as one of your friends - I need Flash Player 8. All I see is Professional Flash Palyer 8 and it cost $. Is there any other way to get to display the web page?

You should be able to find a download on the Adobe download page.

Why do they give you ten votes a day but only let you vote for the same person one time per day?

Unless you have multiple users set up on your computer, if you do you can vote for the same person one time per user.

I'm trying but this does not mean I'd vote for you to rule the world.

Just burgers.

Have the best
