It started with my run this morning. I was slated to do four miles, but I was feeling so good about it, that I went ahead and added another mile to the run -- five miles in an hour and fifteen minutes. That's a fourteen minute mile, which is a nice slow and easy pace. That's OK, 'cause I'm working on endurance now, not speed. This is the longest run I've done since I've started my marathon training. I think that once I work up to a ten mile day, I'm going to reward myself by replacing my iPod and getting that Nike+iPod thingie to use while I'm training.
Not content to rest on my laurels after my morning run, I went out hiking this afternoon. Well, geocaching, but that's like hiking. So, what started as a little hike turned into an eight mile trek! It was three miles before I found a place to hide my cache, so the first three miles of my hike included carting around the heavy ammo box and other cache materials. I was thrilled to find a place to hide the cache and get rid of that burden. I think I found a good place for it. I'll probably wait 'till tomorrow to write up the description and submit it since it's already so late and I'm pretty tired. I'm looking forward to seeing how people will fare with this cache. It's on the trail, and like I said, it's a three mile hike in, so it probably won't get a bunch of visits, but the folks who do visit it should enjoy it.
I was already out that far on the trail, and a few other caches weren't to far away.... So I kept going to pick up the other caches. That's why I had an eight mile hike instead of a six mile one. Lots of fun! Several of the caches were some of the earlier ones in the area, so they were old-school fun -- a great hike, fun multi-caches, with a final that give an awesome view over the lake. I'll be back on that trail again.
It was a great day, and I'm looking forward to a good night's sleep tonight.
Also, I've been watching Minority Report on TNT. They know drama on TNT, you know. It's been a while since I've seen this movie. I enjoy it.
OK. Time to log some caches!
