Half Marathon In The Books

I ran the Cannonball Run Half Marathon much better than I expected. I even got a medal!1 It was lots of fun, and I'll write more about it later, including posting some cool pictures that yarbiedoll took. I was expecting to finish at about three hours. Instead, I finished at about two hours and fifty minutes. Just so you know, that ten minutes is a huge difference for me. I ended up running the first half right at about a twelve minute pace, which really surprised me. After halfway, my pace steadily declined. Especially after about mile nine, where I twisted my knee again. I probably could have shaved off another five minutes if I hadn't have twisted the knee.

Anyway, I'll write more later. I've been enjoying lounging around this afternoon with an icepack on my knee, watching NYPD Blue on DVD.

[1] OK, everyone who finished got a medal. But that included me.
