I Need To Get An Amateur Radio Icon
- Oct. 25th, 2007 at 9:36 PM
I just passed my Ham test. I've arranged for a loaner radio. I should be in the FCC database by Monday.

*high five*
I've been thinking about taking an upcoming test, actually--and if you've got a few free minutes sometime I might want to bug you with some questions...
peace,
--me
also: loaner radio? ...from a friend of yours--?
It's pretty easy to get the license. Just a little bit of study will be all you need. You probably already know the electrical and physics stuff -- that was the hardest part for me. The rest of it is common sense and a little memorizing of a few things. There's no Morse Code anymore. Anyway, I have a few free minutes a lot -- drop me a not on IM and/or give me a call sometime. I'll be more than happy to talk with you about it.
As far as the loaner radio goes, one of the local clubs has a loaner program, which I'll be taking advantage of. I figure I'll get my own by the end of the year.
Someday I might study for it too. I started when I was younger but it was the Morse Code requirement that got in the way...
On a completely unrelated subject, I keep meaning to tell you that the DTB/Susan Tedeschi Soul Stew Revival is coming through Atlanta for New Years again (at the Fox). Of course, we'll be there. Maybe we can meet up again....
