Hanging Out In Atlanta

We made it to Atlanta safe and sound and have been enjoying relaxing in our hotel room, catching up on sleep, and just being lazy. I think we're going to go to the puppet museum today -- they have a Jim Henson collection that yarbiedoll and I would really like to see.

Last night, we met football runningback Joe Montgomery, who owns the restaurant (Jenean's) that we had supper at last night. He was really nice and we didn't know who he was until he heard that we were from North Carolina and mentioned that he used to play for the Panthers. I looked him up online last night and didn't find much, but I did find a pretty neat video about him and his restaurant. The food was excellent, as was the service, and the prices were reasonable. The only downside yesterday was that they were out of conch fritters. I'd definitely go back again. We probably won't have time this trip, so I hope it's still here next time we're in Atlanta.

Why Didn't You Tell Me You Were Coming to Atlanta?
You know I live near Atlanta, right? Had I known you were coming into town, we could have met up. Too late, now. :-)

D'oh!

I forgot you were near Atlanta. We usually come down for New Year's Eve to see the Derek Trucks Band at the Fox. I'll make sure to remember to get in touch next time we're in the area.

We spent all afternoon there -- they were literally waiting for us to leave the parking lot so that they could shut the gates. Very much fun, highly recommended.
