Next week is MacWorld. Garmin says they'll have an announcement with new products and support for Macs. They had a similar announcement 2 years ago and I'm still waiting for what was promised in that announcement.
I made a comment on the Garmin blog post, but I doubt they'll approve it 'cause it was snarky, so I'll reproduce it here:
If what Garmin announces next week includes delivering on everything Garmin announced at MacWorld 2006 (see http://www8.garmin.com/pressroom/corporate/011006.html and subsequent "it's not ready yet" press releases), I'll be happy. If it's more than what was announced in 2006, I'll be extremely happy.
If it includes "these are some things that are coming soon", I'll believe it when I see it.
The funny thing is that I'd be pretty happy with Garmin's Mac support, if they didn't make that announcement at MW2006. Yeah, the support isn't great for the Mac, but it's usable enough. But they promised full Mac support for all of their products by the end of 2006. That's a promise they still haven't delivered.
It will be nice to see what they announce. It will be nicer to see what they deliver.
