I've known about many differences in Bible translations for some time. Different versions attempt to wrangle the original languages into "modern" language, with varying degrees of success and employing differing philosophies on how the translation should occur. I've heard/read the arguments, I have my own ideas, etc. I know that some people think that there is only one valid English translation.
The sermon linked from the RLP site is the first time I've ever seen anyone *really* get passionate about their preferred translation, and he takes an interesting phrase (I think it's from 1 Kings 21:21, but there are 5 other instances of the same phrase) to hang his argument on.
All in all, his sermon comes off as very unintentionally humorous.
