Oh, Yeah. That's What Allergies Do To Me.

I haven't had allergy problems in a few years, so when I started coming down with a cold yesterday, that's all I thought it was. I've been eating zinc tablets all day, and feeling worse as the day goes on.

Then yarbiedoll told me it was probably allergies. Oh, yeah. I forgot about that. So now I'm over to Claritin.

Down with histamines! Dr. Mellow for President!

My friend, the histamines are the terrorists. If we don't fight them, they have already won.

Why should we be terrorized by fake time? If we don't fight it, the terrorists have already won.

In addition to my patriotic duty of fighting terrorism, as outlined above, I am for the Fair Tax. That's an idea we can all get behind.

Oooooooo allergies have been sore awful this year! My normal drug is barely handling it. I've been supplementing it with other stuff. I may have to try something else. Probably something non-prescription!

For the last three months my eye has been watering.

I am sure its been at least three months as it started around Valentine's day.

Not my eyes.

Just one eye.

Tearing all the time.

I finally reach my breaking point as far as - just dealing with it - goes and went to an eye doctor.

I have a hard time trusting doctors. The eye doctor I went to was recommended by two different sources.

He tells me I have allergies & "allergic conjunctivitis" and gives me a sample box of Lotemax.

Yes, you can have allergies in only one eye, says the doc. Says that because the eye in question has a scar on it, it has a harder time dealing with allergy causing stuffs compared to the other eye.

I don't do eye stuff very well but I'm three months into tears running down my cheek perpetually and waking up with my eye gooked shut every morning.

So, like I said, I'm at my breaking point and decide to trust this doctor and attempt to put the drops in my eye.

I read the label...

Shake well before using.

Expires 6/07.

Dude gave me expired eye medication.

After I dealt with it for three months, I go for help and get expired drugs.

So my eye runs perpetual tears down my cheek and I wake up with it gooked shut every morning.

People look at me funny cause they think I'm crying - from one eye.

I can only wonder what it is I'm allergic to and how long it will last.

Have the best

Allergies are new to me. I'm not completely convinced that's what this is, cept, I can't figure what else it could be.

And on a different note...

Somewhere, in a box I put someplace safe, I have a picture of myself in a shark, feet first, taken at Universal Studios, California.

Have the best

If, for some strange reason, you've been paying close attention to my LJ, you'll note that this year my allergies are the worst they've ever been. So I am not shocked.

Yes, I've noticed several of the journals I follow are mentioning the same thing. I wish I thought about allergies last night -- I'm playing catch-up now and hope the meds will catch the allergies before too long.

I hope Claritin works for you. Didn't do squat for me. I needed Zyrtec plus pseudephedrine.

We'll see. It's always worked in the past. And it's been a few years since I've had problems, so I hope it works now. If not, I'll be calling on the doctor early next week.

Were you trying the Claritin "D" or regular Claritin? Claritin doesn't do squat for me without the decongestant.

Straight loratidine.

That was me a week or so ago. Now after about a week of Claritin D-24, I'm cleared up.

I had tempted fate a couple weeks ago by mentioning I had had no allergies as of yet, in contrast to what my life would have been like in NC.

Alas, the spring showers that have come later have provided concentrated pollen for some reason, and the allergies have been real bad for all of us. I've got a cough in addition, which I generally didn't get in NC. Coughs that hurt my ribs. Yargh.
