What made today a success where Saturday was a failure? I started earlier. Yes, it's hot and humid down here, but it wasn't too bad at 0700. I took water with me. Unfortunately, I left my water bottles and belt at home, so I just had to carry a couple of bottles of water while I ran. What I did was run two miles and put one of the bottles down beside the trail. I drank from the other bottle for the next four miles, at which point I had returned to spot where I left the first bottle. So I had that bottle to take me to the end of the run. It worked great.
At this point, I'm planning to do two five-mile runs this week (Wednesday and Friday) and my long run of eighteen miles on Sunday afternoon.
