Apparently, it's dangerous to be a McCain supporter in Pittsburgh. What would have been a simple robbery turned into a mutilation when the attacker realized the victim was a McCain supporter:

Woman Attacked At ATM, Assailant Carves Letter Into Her Face

Richard said the robber took $60 from the woman, then became angry when he saw a McCain bumper sticker on the victim's car. The attacker then punched and kicked the victim, before using the knife to scratch the letter "B" into her face, Richard said.

Remember, knives don't mutilate people -- angry Obama supporters mutilate people.

UPDATE: She made it up.

Notice also what this incident says about the demographic of Obama's supporters.

You're right. If you're an Obama supporter, you're either a poor, black criminal, or someone who likes poor black criminals. Or just likes black people.

Either way, worthless scum.

The "criminal" part is enough for me, thanks.

Did I say I was a McCain supporter? No I did not.

A wise man. :D I made the mistake, actually, of replying to you before I read your profile.

I'm not an Obama supporter, but I thought your comment was kind of disingenuous, and the sort of thing a McCain supporter (or, heck, the McCain /campaign/) might say, so I responded instantly with snark and the assumption that you were among them. Apologies.

Obama's got his issues, but I've come to realize that they're both socialists. McCain's supporters are just in denial about it.

I just live in a place where it's about 85% diehard GOP folks, 10% Democrats, and everyone else divides up the remaining 5%.

Baldwin, then?

Very honestly, I am still a swing voter: between McCain and Baldwin. You can already guess the arguments for either option. It's not going to be an easy one.

I live in Central Florida, so, while my particular district is fairly Republican, regionally we are split right down the middle.

Apparently, some of them... live in Pittsburgh!

That can't be good...

Crap. I didn't get the call to go mutilate and steal!

I wondered about that "B". Obviously, I wasn't there so I can only speculate, just like the guy who is doubting the "B". My counter-speculation is just as reasonable as his speculation:

1. Turn the picture upside-down and the "B" is no longer backwards. Imagine the victim laying on the ground and the attacker operating from her head -- upside-down.

2. Perhaps the attacker didn't want to really cut the victim, just scare her. Thus, the shallow cut.

3. Perhaps the victim was paralyzed with fear and was not struggling, giving the attacker plenty of time to be precise.

I don't like speculating about things like this. Since there were apparently no witnesses, we'll probably never know what really happened. In the absence of good evidence (more than speculation) to the contrary, I'll err on the side of the victim.

It is straining credibility to imagine that a mugging victim would be so politically motivated as to concoct this story on the spot and then, with cold calculation, scratch up her own face, all before the police and paramedics arrive.

This happened at an ATM; there may be video.

Richard said the woman refused medical treatment after the assault, which happened outside the view of the bank's surveillance cameras.

I'd love to know what this area is like, whether the spot where the assault took place is sufficiently secluded that there'd be enough time for the woman to have been threatened, punched, fondled (she has since claimed sexual assault too), and branded, before it could be witnessed by someone.
